Physiotherapy

is a healthcare profession committed to working with people helping them to identify and maximise their ability to function and move throughout their lives.

This can be achieved by:

  • Promoting optimal mobility, physical activity and overall health and wellbeing
  • Preventing injury, disease and disability
  • Managing acute and chronic conditions and activity limitations
  • Improving and maintaining optimal functional and independence
  • Rehabilitating injury and the effects of disease or disability with therapeutic exercise programmes and other interventions
  • Planning maintenance and support programmes to prevent re-occurrence, re-injury or functional decline enhanced with education

Physiotherapy Assessment

Consists of taking important medical history and other relevant information that relates to your injury or health problem. You might be asked to perform simple tasks and your therapist will observe you and mark it down. Your body might be assessed through palpation and a treatment plan will be discussed with you.

We advise you to wear shorts and a t-shirt or other loose clothing that can be taken off easily and quickly.

Physiotherapy can involve a number of different treatments and preventative approaches depending on the specific problems you are experiencing:
