Sarojni Vaja

I have been practising osteopathy for 22 years, graduating from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2001.

I started practising as an Osteopath and treating patients using manual osteopathic techniques in 2001, however, my practice has evolved over the years. Very soon after graduating, osteopathy took me to travelling, working in clinics in Poole, Hampshire, Southhampton and London. In 2003, I started training in Paediatric Osteopathy, under the guidance of renowned Paediatric Osteopath Specialists at the Osteopathic Centre for Children. Here, I gained extensive experience treating babies and children, children on the autistic spectrum, children with learning and behavioural difficulties and children with complex neurological conditions such as cerebral palsy. We were also very privileged to treat premature babies at the neonatal ward at Barnet General Hospital.

Whilst training as a Paediatric Osteopath, my training in Cranial Osteopathy started and over the years I have completed various cranial osteopathy training courses. For more than two decades now, I have been implementing cranial osteopathy techniques into my practise. My patients like the combination of the two ways of working and the results are beneficial to them.

I am an osteopathic tutor and have taught at the British College of Osteopathic Medicine.

In 2018, I trained to become a Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) practitioner. This is a new way of treating nerve and muscle pain and many other conditions using specific frequencies and micro amperage current. I combine FSM therapy if required on patients.

Most of my patients come in for neck, shoulder, and lower back pain, headaches caused due to muscular tension, muscular and joint pains, stress management, anxiety, trauma/PTSD, grief/loss, mental focus/clarity/poor concentration, Autistic spectrum disorder, ADHD. Sometimes the muscular pain is a manifestation of stress, anxiety or depression and taking this into account when treating the individual is very crucial.

Techniques used are bespoke to the person and may include soft tissue techniques, muscle energy techniques, neuro-muscular techniques, mobilisations, spinal manipulations, cranial osteopathic techniques, FSM therapy, exercise and postural advice.
