Bringing you back into balance

It is important to understand the relationship between all the body’s systems – how pain is generated and perpetuated, the effect pain and stress has on the hormonal balance, and how this altogether affects your physical and emotional wellbeing.

People suffering with Fibromyalgia often experience:

Fibromyalgia can be very challenging to treat as there are many causes or triggers, which can include:

– physical trauma to the spine from an accident or disc injury;
– prolonged emotional stress causing an imbalance between the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system;
– chronic infections caused by viruses, bacteria, yeast overgrowth in the gut;
or other parasites causing inflammatory reactions in your body.

  • widespread pain
  • stiffness
  • fatigue
  • poor sleep patterns
  • cognitive difficulties
  • brain fog
  • anxiety
Eliminating the pain is only the first part of the recovery process. Returning the patient to full health is a challenging multidisciplinary project but has been done in enough cases to provide hope and therapeutic direction. The research shows that treatment must address the spinal cord, the pain processing centres in the brain and the neuroendocrine system. Clinical practice shows that treatment must reduce or eliminate pain as a way of reducing HPA stress and then rehabilitate the digestive system, the adrenals and the endocrine system.
